Global Market Access & Pricing Analyst                

Our client a European pharmaceutical company require a Market Access Analyst to join their Market Access & Government Affairs team. The Global Market Access Analyst will lead the management of pricing, overseeing the global pricing policy, managing processes and maintaining the pricing database. Additionally to provide analysis of pricing and market access as required to optimise revenue and profitability for our clients current and new product opportunities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • To oversee  global pricing policy, ensuring colleagues understand and comply with the policy
  • To train colleagues regarding agreed policy, processes and terminology
  • To manage processes related to pricing, including:
    • assisting affiliates with production of documentation to support pricing requests
    • chairing the Global Pricing Committee (GPC)
    • writing agendas and minutes for the GPC
    • to update policy documents and templates as required
  • To maintain the global pricing database, working with affiliates monthly to accurately record prices of products
  • To understand and be an expert on price definitions and national approaches to pricing
  • To understand and monitor the environment with respect to pricing including regular price reviews, mandatory discounts and price reductions, opportunities for price increases
  • To support affiliates and global teams with pricing analysis, for example to assist with new product evaluation or to assess potential commercial strategies for products
  • To act as the Pricing lead within, identifying areas for improvement, sharing best practice, leading projects to optimise pricing management and acting as an expert within the organisation
  • To understand and monitor pricing management best practice within life science and other industries, and to interpret to meet needs and ambitions
  • To work on ad hoc market access projects as required

RELATIONSHIPS:

  • Integral member of the global Market Access & Government Affairs (MAGA) team
  • Integral member of the MAGA network of affiliate market access / government affairs colleagues
  • Member of the global Commercial team
  • Close working relationship with Finance, Business Intelligence and New Product Evaluation colleagues

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

  • Degree or equivalent preferably in health sciences, finance, mathematics, economics or health economics
  • Strong IT skills and experience in dealing with multiple information systems
  • Good attention to detail, strong analytical skills and advanced in the use of Excel: Experience in analytical business or commercial roles within the life sciences industry desirable
  • Ability to handle multiple projects involving cross functional stakeholders with good problem solving skills and creative solutions
  • Good knowledge of pharmaceutical market access routes with experience of the various pricing and reimbursement systems across Europe : Experience with pricing and market access analytics for asset acquisition  (pharmaceuticals, devices and / or diagnostics) desirable
  • Good understanding of the payer perspective and pricing research mechanisms
  • Ability to work across multiple disease areas, medical technologies, and medical services as required
  • Clinical and/or health economics and outcomes research experience desirable
  • Good influencing skills and ability to concisely summarise insights for various internal audiences with professional level verbal and written communications skills: Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Collaborative, team-oriented, pragmatic and results-oriented approach
