Business Development Associate, Bicester or London Based

Our client a leading international biopharma consulting group is looking for a Business Development Associate. The successful candidate will be passionate about winning business, focused on energizing client relationships and looking to build relationships at all levels within an organisation.

You will be responsible for providing support to the wider business development team, in securing meetings with new and existing clients from the pharmaceutical, medical devices and healthcare industry. You will have the opportunity to develop sales strategies to increase and drive opportunities to meet and talk to clients, whilst building your own pipeline within a defined period. 

The role of Business Development Associate will enable you to shadow and work closely with experienced members within the team, to learn the foundations of what the role of BD Manager is within our clients business.

Our client is looking for someone who is ambitious, driven and passionate about our business with the ambition to own your own sales target.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Strategic account development with a focus on the Strategic and Growth customers. This includes:
  • o New business development and account management
  • o Managing existing relationships to growth
  • o End to end solution sales
  • Develop a priority portfolio of accounts for strategic growth in mid-tier territory
  • Optimize the customer journey and experience
  • Interfacing with all key buying influencers
  • Create, present and execute strategic account and business plans
  • Prospecting for new customers and qualifying new leads to support a balanced pipeline for future sales
  • Generating proposals, planning customer meetings, and demonstrating capabilities across services in a defined territory


  • Business or Scientific Degree preferred


  • Pharmaceutical or healthcare industry experience preferred
  • Previous working experience in a Sales and Account management role
  • Track record of delivering results and exceeding sales quotas
  • Experience in both territory and strategic account planning
  • Experience in creating custom proposals and responding to RFPs


  • Excellent presentation, verbal and written communications skills
  • Clear thinker with proven ability to synthesize complex issues into simple messages
  • Team player, experience of working with cross-functional and international teams
  • Languages: fluency in English is a must. Knowledge of any or several other European languages (French, German, Spanish or Italian) is desirable
